Meet The Joy Team
Jenny Peterson, PhD, PCC, CDTLF
As an author, artist, and executive coach, Jenny supports individuals by providing expert guidance so that they crush limiting beliefs, rediscover joy, and achieve their impossible. Her background in positive psychology, fierce compassion and mindfulness supports her in helping clients convert science-based principles into practical application for life-changing transformation. Jenny loves to join people on their courageous life adventures to help unlock and support change, fulfilment, and joy. Since 2007, she’s challenged her coaching clients to live into their wildest, most passionate dreams. Her favorite coaching question is, “What makes your hear sing?” Jenny’s experience includes coaching leaders and teams to become more effective, helping entrepreneurs to engage with their purpose and meaning, and working with individuals to break through the outside noise to find their own, unique path. She considers joy a building block emotion that allows us to recognize and regulate a full range of emotions and unlock psychological and physical resiliency.

Amanda Zagelbaum
Amanda has been working with families and children for the last twenty years in various capacities. She started her career doing child protective social work and her passion for serving youth and families has led Amanda to serve youth experiencing homelessness. While pursuing her career Amanda also began pursuing her dream to have a family of her own. The journey to bring a child into her family proved to be more challenging than they could have imagined. Throughout that journey, Amanda learned a lot about herself; learning to love and appreciate all that she already had, even as she pursued pregnancy. Navigating her fertility journey helped Amanda create more awareness and intentionality around what and where she found JOY. Amanda joined the JOY seeking community because she was curious about what other ways, she could intentionally bring JOY into her life. Daily life can feel overwhelming, especially during the pandemic; trying to juggle the care taking load of her family and her outreach team. Amanda shares that she is so excited and proud to be a part of this Women’s Joy Seeking Mastermind Group and can’t wait to meet you!

Karla Quinn, ACC
Karla Quinn was drawn to Executive Coaching after consistently receiving feedback that people walked away with a real sense of clarity and a general feeling of peace and direction after their conversations. Embracing this as a natural strength, Karla noticed that while her career took her to leadership positions in finance, operations, IT, and management, she found the personal time with her employees and business partners was the magic that filled her cup. After a simple conversation over coffee with a friend, lightning struck that coaching was Karla’s calling. Karla currently enjoys the best of both worlds working as an IT Manager by day and a Coach by night, saying that she loves working with her team in the corporate setting and the individual 1 on 1 work of coaching. Karla found being part of Joy Seekers upped her happiness factor. Being part of a community whose purpose is to point out the highlights in everyday life shifted her perspective and just plain felt good.

Kristen Ell, PCC, PHR, SHRM-CP
Kristen is a life-long Minnesotan, Global HR Leader, Executive Coach & Poly-Hobbyist. Kristen describes herself as an ‘optimistic explorer and connection maker, who is learning how to wake up and soak in life one day at a time’. Her core philosophy is that how you experience life hinges on your choices – and Joy Seeking is a critical component. As you become more self-aware, you become more cognizant of these choice points and sparks of Joy, which then empowers you to respond and savor the good, rather than default to autopilot. Kristen found that the Joy Seekers community gave her just what she needed; gentle prompts and structure to strengthen her Joy seeking and savoring reflexes and friendly people to maximize and share in the everyday magical moments.
